WHAT IS YOUR STYLE  OF PHOTOGRAPHY?

I consider my style to produce, vibrant, true to colour images.  I am neither dark and moody or a true light and airy in my editing style.  I like my images to be lighter and brighter but with pop of colour and vibrancy.  My shooting style is fun, relaxing and natural.  With baby and child photography...we roll with what the kids give us, trying to interact with them and let their personalities shine through. Maternity and Seniors, I do give some direction and posing so you feel comfortable and confident in front of my camera.  Newborns are studio sessions only and do have a different feel then regular sessions, these are all posed and wrapped sessions beautifully curated with a variety of colours and props.
 
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

For maternity sessions, we will have a in-depth discussion of wardrobe options. Usually something casual and light/ neutral and I also have a client closet of elegant maternity dresses to borrow.  Families I also recommend lights, neutrals and colours that compliment each other.  I strongly discourage identical clothing options.  All sessions include a wardrobe consult where we will discuss all the pairing options and best fit for the type of image you are looking for.

WHY DON’T YOU RELEASE ALL OF THE PHOTOS YOU TAKE?

Not every image that is captured is picture perfect to be perfectly honest. Often we capture a few blinks or awkward expressions as we move through the poses. Maybe the flash doesn't fire or exposure is missed.  I also take multiple shots of the same image to ensure we get the best one possible. These images are then culled out to show you only the best of the best! 

DO YOU EDIT YOUR PHOTOS?
 
Yes, all images are edited to some extend.  When working with RAW files from the camera this requires ALL files to be touched to some level.  I typically edit for correct colour profiles, cropping and minor blemish removal. Newborn photography is a more extensive edit due to the nature of the genre.  In order to receive the fine art finish on these images, they are extensively hand edited individually.

IS STUDIO PHOTOGRAPHY AVAILABLE?

I am so excited to say that we have opened our own little studio in our home.  This quaint space is perfect for newborns, maternity and babies and seniors!  

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
 
Typically I give you a 4 week window to expect your images. Depending on the season this can be much less than that. All sessions come with a sneak peek so that you get a glimpse of your images within 48hrs.

WHAT IF I NEED TO RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT?

I get it, things come up unexpectedly and it can interfere with your scheduled portrait session.  I do ask that you notify me to reschedule as soon as possible. I do allow wiggle room for weather postponements so it isn't too hard to reschedule you for a more suitable date.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT?

Cancellations are very reason specific.  Depending on the nature of the cancellation you may receive a refund or partial refund of your payment.  All session fees are transferable and we do try to reschedule whenever possible.  All no shows will forfeit all payments made prior to your session date.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?

Image delivery is 100% dependant on the package you purchase. Some packages limit images to 5, to 20 images. Other packages include ALL edited images.  Packages with limited digital that are included always have the option to upgrade and purchases additional images.

WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND THAT I PRINT THROUGH YOU?

There are many benefits of printing through me.  Mainly because my computer is calibrated and often checked for colour correctness with the professional lab I use.  Often with "drugstore photo labs" you will find discrepancies in colour and quality of your image.  Professional labs use higher archival quality paper and guarantee their quality.  If you print through me and your prints are not 100% up to the highest quality or colour correctness they will be replaced. I can not guarantee the printing of off site printing labs for your prints.

WHAT TIME OF DAY SHOULD WE SCHEDULE THE SHOOT?

I schedule all newborns before 11am as they the sleepiest then. For older babies and children we like to work around nap schedules and have them in for their sessions when they are their happiest.  Families, seniors etc that we take advantage of the beautiful outdoors, we schedule all shoots around "golden hour' meaning the last 2 hours prior to sunset whenever possible. The light is simply at its best during this time. I can book your session during any time of the day to accommodate but I will give recommendations as to when you can expect the best lighting.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE LOCATIONS TO SHOOT?

Depending on what type of session you are having, some of my favorite locations to shoot are along any river or body of water,  open fields with long tall grass, alpine type flower fields and of course my studio!
