You likely see a lot of "about me" pages that start with "I have always wanted to be a photographer... had a camera in my hand since I could walk!"... Well, that's not me, I didn't even know I wanted to be a photographer until I was one! It definitely wasn't what I wrote in my elementary school career journal!
So here we are, I am a full time photographer, business owner and I 100% would not trade it in for the world.
I truly, feel I am finally living my BEST LIFE!
Often people ask what is my favorite "genre" to photograph... I really struggle with this question as every session and every client is so different. But if I had to give an answer, I would say I get the greatest joy from working with kids. Little kids, few days old kids and more recently...those kids who are about to step out into the world of adulthood..... "Seniors" or also known as Grads here in Canada. Maybe it is because this is where I am in my life, 3 kids graduated and 1 more now finishing her final year of high school!
Their energy and fun nature is infectious!.

* I am an avid dog person! We lost our old guy late in 2021 and it was sole crushing. My days seem empty without a pitter patter of 4 feet following me. I am over the moon to be adopting a Golden Retriever puppy this summer. This has been a life long dream of mine! I am sure my instagram will be flooded with new pictures when he / she arrives!!

Let’s break it down a little bit. There are two different types of “Style”. There’s editing style, meaning which colors the photos turn out to be, and capturing style, which is more about what goes into taking the photo. I myself, would say my style is Artistic/Creative with bold & vibrant, true to life colors (editing style).

If you asked my friends, they would tell you I do love a good full bodied red wine. And they would be correct! I do consider myself pretty blessed to live in a region that produces some great wines at a reasonable price.
My dream trip would be travel Tucsanny on a wine tour one day!

To be completely honest, I kind of happened upon it by chance. Once Ken and I got married we (he) purchased a luxury camera as we loved to hike and explore. But within a few years, I was a stay at home mom and in charge of documenting all the fun of raising babies. Soon after I started digital scrapbooking and I wanted to perfect my images. Soon friends and family were asking me to photograph them and it slowly became the career I love!

Hands down, summer! I love the heat, I love the glowy light just before the sunsets and the break from the routine the school year commands of us! I married a teacher, who became a principal and that along with raising kids... summer became our season to spend a lot of time together traveling, camping and exploring.

I definitely have a lot of places I would LOVE TO VISIT on my list, but I do not know if I have a favorite so much. The short list would be:
Osoyoos, BC: I love this little town nestled in a beautiful valley just above the US/Canada border. Its climate is close to ours and we try for a yearly golf / wine tour get away. It holds a lot of great memories
Sprout Lake BC: My dad lives on one of the most beautiful lakes on Vancouver Island. We spent many summers in the water or lounging on the dock. Watching my kids fall in love with our summer get away is one of the best moments!

My kids are my life, not a day goes by when I don't think about them. Watching my oldest daughter become a mom was such an amazing moment for me! I don't even think I can describe how awe inspiring it was!
Maybe that is one of the reasons I have such a heart for new momma's to be and their newest little bundles!
I love the wonder, the newness and the joy! Pure joy.
